Grades 1-8

Building confidence.
Building futures.

G.O. 1

Welcome to the Girls’ School!

When entering our doors, visitors are immediately struck by the camaraderie. There’s a community feel with students of different ages interacting  and teachers supporting and consulting with one another.

Our dedicated teachers foster the warmth that is TA. They model support, understanding, problem-solving, and respect, taking the time to understand each child’s background, accommodate their learning style, and tune into their social-emotional needs. They leverage their deep knowledge and professional skills to meet the girls where they’re at, creating classrooms where learning is exciting, relatable, and meaningful while still challenging to every student at her academic level.

The girls relate to the teachers as role models, creating connections and looking to them for support.

In this unique atmosphere of academic rigor and warm support, the students thrive, growing into confident young women ready to move onto the next stage of their lives.

Highlights

Performances

Chumash play. Choirs. Rosh Chodesh performances. Taking part in class performances – whether acting, singing, or dancing – gives the girls a chance to shine and develop self-confidence.

Ignite the S.P.A.R.K.

Ignite the S.P.A.R.K. is a school-wide middos program designed to develop sensitivity and inclusion, creating an awareness that every single person has something special about them.

The program is facilitated by Mrs. Beverly Kaplinsky, our school counselor,  together with teachers in all departments.

STEM Maker spaces

STEM–Makerspaces are equipped with the resources to promote exploration and inquiry. Our girls use the makerspaces as part of their science fair projects, for coding and 3D printing electives, and as part of their weekly science classes. The abundance of building and craft materials have also helped teachers introduce STEM skills across the subjects.

STEM Fair

Taking their in-class learning a step further, the girls participate in a STEM fair, creating an exhibition about a STEM topic of their choice.

A hands-on experience, the girls each choose a STEM topic, explore it independently, and present their research at an exciting school-wide STEM Fair.

Art, gym, and music

First to sixth grades enjoy art, gym, and music lessons.

Erev Shabbos get-togethers

School-wide Friday assemblies addressing important topics connected to the parsha or season. Students enjoy thematic singing and discussion on general middos building.

G.O.

G.O. activities add ruach and excitement to the school! The eighth grade girls, under the direction of Mrs. Shira Sternfield, plan and lead thematic Rosh Chodesh activities, contests, a middle-school Shabbaton, and field trips, developing strong leadership skills.

Electives

Seventh and eighth graders can choose from a variety of electives, developing skills such as cake decorating, computer programming, and 3D printing.

Robotics Club

After school robotics team competed in the VEX Robotics Challenge hosted by the Center for Initiatives in Jewish Education (CIJE). The girls’ team (Boston Bots) achieved a second-place win!

Darcheinu

Darcheinu is a social-emotional curriculum for the 5th-8th grade used in Jewish day schools nationally. Based on the SEL curriculum, Darcheniu has been proven to increase self-esteem and develop positive social skills.

Yedios Klalios

Girls in grades 3-8 participate in “In the Know,” an optional Yedios Klalios program. Participants memorize important information on topics of general Jewish knowledge, such as the words to Al Hamichya, the names of the 24 Seforim of Tanach, and the Aseres HaDibros, earning points and gaining entry to a grand, end-of-the-year trip.

Bas Mitzvah Program

The sixth grade girls participate in a year-long Bas Mitzvah program, culminating in a beautiful mother-daughter program, complete with a musical presentation, dessert, and guest speaker.
